Karachi is the largest city in Pakistan and the twelfth-largest city in the world. It is the capital of the Pakistani province of Sindh. Ranked as a beta-global city, it is Pakistan’s premier industrial and financial center. University is an institution of higher education and research that awards academic degrees in several academic disciplines. Universities typically offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. 1. University of Karachi (UOK)

The University of Karachi was established by an act of the Pakistan parliament in June 1951. The present campus, to which the University shifted in 1959, is spread over 1279 acres of land, situated 12 Km away from the city center. Today the University is recognized as a premier center of learning and research in the Subcontinent and in the Third World. 2. Aga Khan University (AKU)

Aga Khan University is a non-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. It was Founded in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private university. 3. Muhammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU)

The Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, (abbreviated as MAJU) is a private university located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.

MAJU has departments of Computer Science, Bioinformatics and Biosciences, and Mathematics in the Faculty of Computing; in the Faculty of Business Administration and Social Sciences, there are departments of Business Administration, Economics, and Social Sciences.

4. NED University of Engineering and Technology

The NED University of Engineering & Technology was established in March 1977. The NED University is thus one of the oldest institutions in Pakistan for teaching and producing Engineering graduates. Founded in April 2004, the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) has been developing a tradition of excellence in education, research, and community service. 9. Hamdard University (HU)

Hamdard University is a private research university with campuses in Karachi and Islamabad, Pakistan. It was founded in 1991 by the renowned philanthropist Hakim Said of the Hamdard Foundation. Hamdard is one of the first and the oldest private institutions of higher education in Pakistan. In Karachi, Hamdard University is the largest private research university with a campus area of over 350 acres.
